my story

I began my path to becoming a healer, as many do, with my own healing crisis.  After having been diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases and finding little help with conventional medicine, I spent nearly a decade researching alternative treatments. Through this process, I discovered many valuable techniques and healing modalities that uncovered the roots of my illnesses and brought me back to health and vitality. This exploration ultimately lead me to apprentice with cranio-sacral therapist and holistic healer Teresa Jayne of Ojai, California, the creator of Body Wisdom Healing (BWH), with whom I continue to collaborate.

While Body Wisdom Healing is a powerful healing method on its own, my deep interest in physical, mental and spiritual health motivated me to continue to acquire even more training.  In addition to BWH, I have studied Trauma and the Body with Bessel Van der Kolk, Internal Family Systems Therapy (a form of inner child work) with Richard Schwartz, and Somatic Psychotherapy with Wendy Elliott.  I have also worked as a professional artist for twenty years and have spent an equal amount of time practicing, studying and, more recently, teaching Zen Buddhism. These experiences allow me to bring a creative and flexible mind, an open heart, and a deep presence to each healing session.  I have found that bodywork can be easily combined with other modalities to create a gentle yet powerful way to access the deep resources of healing that are within each of us.  Body Wisdom Healing can also be a wonderful way to support and deepen other forms of physical or mental health treatments.

I am continually humbled and inspired by the wisdom and insights that my clients bring to their own healing process and I work with each individual to develop the unique treatment plan that is best for them.

I look forward to sharing all that I have learned on my journey with you.
